Pentagon FLIR Videos — "Gimbal," "GoFast," "Tic-Tac"
2004 (Tic-Tac) · 2015 (Gimbal, GoFast) · Declassified: April 27, 2020
████ CONFIRMED
Officially released by the US Department of Defense, April 27, 2020. Three infrared camera (FLIR) videos filmed by US Navy F/A-18 pilots during operational missions.

Tic-Tac (USS Nimitz, November 14, 2004): Object approximately 40 feet long, no visible propulsion, exhaust, or control surfaces. Simultaneously observed on the Princeton's AN/SPY-1B phased-array radar, pilot radar, and FLIR targeting pod. Object tracked descending from 80,000 feet to sea level, mirrored pilot maneuvers by Commander David Fravor, then vanished — reappearing at a CAP point 60 miles away in seconds.

Gimbal (2015): Object rotating into wind over the Atlantic — aerodynamically impossible without extraordinary thrust. Pilot audio: "Look at that thing... it's rotating!" Pentagon analysts could not explain the rotation.

GoFast (2015): Object at extremely high speed at low altitude. Physics analysis suggests speed inconsistent with any known aircraft at that altitude.

Pentagon statement on release: "The aerial phenomena observed in the three videos remain characterized as 'unidentified.'"

UAP Task Force Preliminary Assessment — ODNI Report
June 25, 2021 · US Office of the Director of National Intelligence
████ CONFIRMED
The first official US government UAP report, mandated by Congress, released by ODNI.

144 UAP reports reviewed (2004–2021), primarily from US military sources. Only 1 was identified with high confidence (a deflating balloon). 143 remained unidentified.

18 incidents showed "unusual UAP movement patterns or flight characteristics" including stationary hovering in winds, extreme maneuverability, and supersonic speeds without signatures. The report explicitly could not rule out foreign adversary technology — and could not rule out other explanations.

For the first time, the US government officially: (1) acknowledged UAP as a real phenomenon requiring investigation, (2) confirmed military encounters with unidentifiable objects, (3) admitted it could not explain 95%+ of analyzed cases, and (4) formally adopted the term "Unidentified Aerial Phenomena."

AARO Annual Reports 2022–2024 — All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office
2022–2024 · US Department of Defense
████ CONFIRMED
Official US DoD reports from AARO — the Congressional-mandated UAP investigation office.

AARO Vol. 1 (Aug 2022–Apr 2023): 291 new UAP reports reviewed. 163 characterized as balloon-like. 52 remained genuinely uncharacterized. Some displayed "unusual flight characteristics." A "limited number" appeared to demonstrate controlled flight.

AARO Historical Review (March 2024): Review of all UAP-related US government programs back to 1945. Found no confirmed evidence of extraterrestrial craft in government possession — but AARO's scope and access was contested. Multiple whistleblowers and Congressional members have alleged AARO was deliberately kept away from the most sensitive programs.

Director Sean Kirkpatrick (PhD-level physics background) resigned December 2023 and subsequently stated: "There are elements of the intelligence community that did not cooperate with AARO's investigation. I was not given access to everything that exists."

Rendlesham Forest Incident — RAF Bentwaters/Woodbridge, UK
December 26–28, 1980 · Suffolk, UK
███ CORROBORATED
Over three nights, US Air Force personnel at RAF Woodbridge (a nuclear-armed NATO installation) investigated anomalous light phenomena in Rendlesham Forest. On December 27–28, Deputy Base Commander Lt. Colonel Charles Halt personally led the investigation.

Physical evidence documented:
  • Ground depressions: triangular pattern, ~3 feet apart, consistent with a large object
  • Radiation readings: 0.1 milliroentgens/hour at landing site vs. 0.016 background — approximately 10x above normal at one point
  • Broken branches at 15-foot height, consistent with a large descending object
  • Animal disturbance throughout the area
The Halt Memo (January 13, 1981): Official USAF memo filed by Lt. Col. Halt to UK Ministry of Defence — declassified under FOIA in 1983. Describes craft with pulsing red light, radar confirmation at RAF Bentwaters, "star-like objects" performing sharp angular movements, and one object that "beamed down a stream of light" near nuclear weapons storage area.

The Halt Tape: Contemporaneous audio recording made by Halt during the investigation captures real-time witness descriptions. Halt says on tape: "I see it too. It's back again... it's coming this way... definitely coming this way... pieces of it are shooting off..."

UK Ministry of Defence has never provided an official explanation.

Tehran F-4 Intercept — Systematic Instrument Failure
September 19, 1976 · Tehran, Iran
██ DOCUMENTED
The Iranian Air Force scrambled two F-4 Phantom jets to intercept a bright UAP over Tehran. Both jets experienced systematic, sequential instrument failures when attempting to engage.

Sequence: First F-4 lost all instruments at 25nm from object and turned back. Second F-4 locked radar on object — weapons systems went offline when attempting to fire. Ejection seat controls failed when pilot tried to eject. A smaller object detached and approached the aircraft. Systems fully restored after UAP departed. A third aircraft in the area also suffered communications failures.

US DIA Assessment (declassified): A US Defense Intelligence Agency report rated the case: Information Value: Excellent · Reliability of Source: Excellent · and noted it was "a classic that meets all the criteria necessary for a valid study of the UAP phenomenon." The DIA's own classification called this a validated case.

Belgian Wave — F-16 Radar Intercepts
November 1989 – April 1990 · Belgium
███ CORROBORATED
Over five months, 13,500+ Belgian civilians reported large, slow-moving triangular craft. The Belgian Air Force scrambled F-16 fighters to intercept twice.

F-16 Radar Data (March 30–31, 1990): Two Belgian F-16s tracked a UAP on radar showing an object at 10,000 feet descend to 500 feet in 2 seconds — an acceleration of approximately 46g. Object reached speeds of 1,800 km/h (Mach 1.5) at low altitude. Multiple independent radar stations confirmed the object simultaneously.

Official Response: Belgian Air Force Colonel Wilfried De Brouwer held a press conference acknowledging the phenomenon, stating: "We have no explanation for this phenomenon. The radar data is unambiguous. Whatever these objects were, they performed maneuvers that no aircraft we know of can perform."

The Belgian Air Force formally released an investigation report in 1992. This is one of the few cases where a NATO air force publicly acknowledged tracking and attempting to intercept an unidentified craft.

O'Hare International Airport — United Airlines Gate C-17
November 7, 2006 · Chicago, Illinois
██ DOCUMENTED
At 4:15 PM on November 7, 2006, multiple United Airlines employees — gate agents, ramp workers, supervisors, and a pilot — observed a metallic disc-shaped object hovering silently over Gate C-17. Witnesses estimated 6–24 feet diameter. Duration: approximately 5 minutes.

The object departed by shooting straight up through overcast cloud cover at high speed, leaving a "cookie-cutter" hole in the clouds that persisted for several minutes.

FAA initially denied radar contact and was not investigating. FOIA-obtained FAA records showed internal discussion of the incident. United Airlines initially denied any incident, then confirmed it occurred after the Chicago Tribune investigation.

Reporter Jon Hilkevitch's investigation (Chicago Tribune, January 2007) — obtained through FOIA — became the most-read article in Chicago Tribune history to that point. Witnesses were trained aviation professionals capable of accurately assessing aircraft anomalies.

Ariel School Incident — Dr. John Mack (Harvard) Investigation
September 16, 1994 · Ruwa, Zimbabwe
██ DOCUMENTED
Approximately 62 children aged 8–12 at Ariel School reported seeing a silvery craft land in a field adjacent to the school during a morning break, with humanoid beings observed nearby. Children were unsupervised during the incident and gave independent, consistent accounts.

Investigator: Dr. John Mack — Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, Pulitzer Prize winner — conducted extensive interviews with the children using standard psychiatric interview methodology. Key findings:
  • Accounts were remarkably consistent despite separate questioning
  • Children showed genuine psychological distress consistent with a real experience
  • Cross-grade consistent descriptions of craft and beings
  • Reports of non-verbal communication from the beings about environmental destruction
Long-term follow-up: Multiple witnesses, now adults, have maintained their accounts consistently for 30 years. Documentary "Ariel Phenomenon" (2022) features the adult witnesses. No cultural priming: Zimbabwe 1994 had minimal Hollywood UFO context. 62 child witnesses makes coordinated hoax statistically implausible.
